Located in southwest Edina within Braemar Park, Braemar Golf Course is set amidst 500 acres of rolling hills and picturesque lakes, surrounded by pristine oak ridges. Its secluded ambiance offers a tranquil retreat only 20 minutes from downtown Minneapolis.

The course’s name, “Braemar,” connects to Edina’s Scottish heritage, named after Edinburgh and reflecting the Scottish origins of golf itself. The original 18-hole layout, along with a driving range and par three course, was initiated in February 1963, with the first round played on July 22, 1964. Over the years, Braemar has undergone continuous development and enhancements.

Notably, Braemar hosted the 1969 Minnesota Classic PGA event—one of only four PGA tournaments held on a public course that year—and gained national recognition in 1979 when it hosted the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship. The course has also hosted several state-level tournaments, including the Minnesota Senior Open, Minnesota Public Links Championship, and Minnesota Women’s Amateur Public Links.
